Ritornello: Alma Mater Karus 2026

The AMKSS Alumni Wind Orchestra (AAWO) will hold their inaugural concert, Ritornello I, on 22 March 2026 at 2:30 pm, under the direction of Mr. Brando Tan, former conductor of the AMKSS Symphonic Band (2000–2017). Named after the Italian musical term ritornello, meaning “a little return,” the concert celebrates the enduring bonds and shared memories of AMKSS Symphonic Band alumni across generations, bringing them together for an evening of nostalgia and musical expression. The performance honors the band’s past achievements with signature works while embracing the future, as graduating AMKSSSB members join the alumni on stage in a symbolic passing of the torch. The programme features pieces such as Seventh Night of July by Itaru Sakai, With Heart and Voice by David R. Gillingham, highlights from Spirited Away arranged by Endo Yukio, and the Singapore premiere of The Boy and Dragon Symphonic Suite: Finale “Into the Sky” by Shinotsuka Yusuke, among others, promising a memorable night of tradition, renewal, and shared musical passion.
